Bellona is still doing great. It’s been pretty cold here in WA (30 degrees right now) so she’s still sleeping upstairs. Bellona took a trip out to the front yard yesterday to show her 3-legged hop to the neighbors. Big B also got to lay in the sun yesterday too. Laying in the sun is high up on Bellona’s favorite things. Probably in the top 3 with sleeping on our bed and sleeping on the couch. Bellona’s got a long way to go before she can get on our bed so the sunshine and the couch will have to do for now.
I’m glad to have neighbors that are also pet parents of dogs. People without pets don’t understand why we took extreme measures to take care of Bellona. Millions of people have their dogs left outside, but that’s not how it works at our house. Our dogs are just as important as any human in our house too. Our fur-babies already have better nutrition than we do.
Ain’t that the truth!! Bellona – Maggie agrees with you on the laying in the sunshine and on the couch(futon to her) and on the bed when allowed!
And yes, it IS nice to have doggie neighbors that understand…I have doggie neighbors but I highly doubt they’d go to the lengths we have for our pups…I remember standing out behind my house with Maggie just after amputation helping her pee….and my neighbors looking at her.. I can imagine what they were thinking… but we don’t care cause just like in your house, fur babies are just as important as the humans and the fur babies DO eat better than humans here! LOL

Rudy also places sun bathing high on his list of favorite things too!
What you said is so true! Our fur babies are family, plain as that.
So happy that your beautiful Bellona is doing so well:)
