Bellona is doing well and made more improvements today. When I got home from work guess who was on the couch? Bellona looked like she was happy to be back on one of her top two placed to sleep (the other is our bed).
I hope she’ll let me have the couch back tonight. It’s going to be a while before we can all sleep upstairs in our room. I’m not sure how long it will take till Bellona can master a flight of stairs but as long as she’s here at home I’m more than happy to camp out on the couch.
Here are a few pictures taken tonight of Bellona. With her standing it’s much easier to see her incision and the healing that’s beginning.
Looking good Bellona!
By the way, if your girl decides she doesn’t want to give up the couch, you may want to invest in an airbed. We got one when Max was recovering from his amputation, and he slept on it with me!
Thanks for the info on the air mattress. We are borrowing a couple from my in-laws but the couch seems to be more comfortable. Hubby has been sleeping in his recliner and I’ve been on the couch with Caesar at mt feet. I’m glad I’m short – it would be difficult to share the couch with a 120 lb dog if I was any taller.
Yeah Bellona! She looks great! So glad to hear about her progress.
I bet she’ll let you know when she’s ready for the stairs. Rudy kept looking at the blocked off stairway and finally my husband took him for a test run. Rudy did so much better on the stairs than I had expected!
Rudy has taught me to have faith and not be so worried! I’m still learning:)
I can’t believe she can stand to eat on day 3! Since we’re on day 1 1/2, this gives me hope. Dakota is so unsteady, face planting all over the place. I knew it would be hard, of course. If he can get steady enough to stand long enough to eat, I’ll be happy. Maybe we need a princess blanket. That might be what’s made the difference for Bellona!
Lookin’ good there Bellona! A beautiful battle scar for such a warrior goddess.
